Diehl Defence, a leading supplier of defence technology products in Germany, becomes sole shareholder of AIM Infrarot-Module GmbH, a specialist for infrared detectors, thermal imaging devices and Stirling cooling machines for industry, various space applications and the military market.

Diehl Defence already held a 50 percent stake in AIM and is acquiring the remaining 50 percent from the second shareholder Rheinmetall, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

Diehl Defence intends to continue AIM as a wholly-owned subsidiary with its established name in its organization and to continue investing in the Heilbronn location.

The complete takeover of AIM strengthens Diehl Defence because both the production ramp-up of series products and new developments can be better accelerated in the current growth phase. For AIM, the change in the shareholder structure means securing the necessary growth.
