Diehl Defence

Diehl Defence, a leading supplier of defence technology products in Germany, has signed a purchase and transfer agreement for the acquisition of the Tauber Group, a leading specialist in the field of explosive ordnance clearance. It is intended for the Tauber Group to be integrated into the Diehl Group as a wholly-owned subsidiary. The takeover is still subject to antitrust approval.

The Tauber Group, which currently has almost 700 employees and generates a turnover of around 100 million euros per year, offers specialized services in the fields of explosive ordnance clearance, system and special civil engineering. Its range of services includes the geophysical detection, recovery, defusing and professional disposal of explosive ordnance as well as the planning and implementation of technically demanding civil engineering projects, amongst others tunnel and pipeline construction, shoring systems and ecological water treatment. Strategic partnerships complete the range with services in ammunition utilization and logistics.

Tauber's product portfolio is an ideal complement to Diehl Defence's capabilities and expertise, which primarily relate to systems for ground-based air defence, guided missiles and ammunition. Tauber is a pioneer in the development of special processes and innovations and is driving forward the internationalization of its markets and a comprehensive market presence.

The expertise of the Tauber Group in the field of ammunition enables Diehl Defence to offer comprehensive solutions from a single source, to serve customer needs in the field of explosive ordnance clearance as a full-range supplier and to make an important contribution to defence and security policy. In addition, Tauber will provide Diehl Defence with more capacity and expertise for ammunition storage in the future.

Tauber and Diehl Defence can build on a successful and close cooperation. For example, the "Spreewerk Lübben" location is currently jointly developed under the umbrella of the joint venture "TD Services".
