Diehl Aviation Marks 80 Years of Supply Systems and Opens New Production Building in Dresden
Diehl Aviation’s Supply Systems Strategic Business Segment is celebrating 80 years of aerospace expertise and innovation. The anniversary was marked by the official inauguration of a new production building at the Dresden site, which will provide additional manufacturing capacity, streamline operational processes, and further strengthen the site’s role within Diehl Aviation’s global production network.
“The new building enables us to expand our capabilities and reliably support our customers’ growing demand, while reinforcing Dresden’s importance within Diehl Aviation’s global production network,” said Robert Hellwig, CEO of Diehl Aviation’s Supply Systems Strategic Business Segment.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Saxony’s Minister-President Michael Kretschmer, underscoring the aerospace industry’s importance as a key driver of innovation, technology, and economic growth in the region.

With roots dating back to AOA Apparatebau Gauting, founded in 1946, the Supply Systems Strategic Business Segment has developed into a leading supplier of aircraft systems for water, air, fire protection, and oxygen supply, with engineering and manufacturing operations in Dresden and Gilching.
Over the past eight decades, Supply Systems has evolved from a component manufacturer into a provider of integrated system solutions. Today, as part of Diehl Aviation’s global organization, it supports leading aircraft manufacturers worldwide.
The new production building provides the capacity required to meet the continued growth of the aerospace industry and ensure the reliable long-term delivery of customer programs.
