A major milestone was the first-ever full LED lighting integration throughout the entire cabin of a wide-body aircraft, realized on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Smart Surface Illuminations & Projections

Diehl Aviation is developing innovative solutions that transform cabin surfaces into dynamic design and information elements. From integrated lighting concepts in ceilings and entrance areas to advanced surface illumination technologies such as backlighting, LED matrices, and projection systems, these solutions create new possibilities for cabin design and passenger interaction.

One example is the Dynamic Color Display (DCD), which can simulate moving clouds across the cabin ceiling. Integrated projection technologies also make it possible to display images or videos directly onto cabin surfaces.
